This will be dead in a year.

No chance. They have the best coaches in nova!

Or they have coaches that are pragmatic enough and resourceful enough to get the job done.

I understood people wanting to get in early, and sticking it out, with a NWSL-affiliated club, but I don't understand the loyalty to the process now that the teams are no longer affiliated with a pro club.

Name a DA in the DMV that isn’t uncertain. One was purchased without any idea given to the people who paid deposits, who knows what’s going on at Arlington. The Baltimore side was left behind by Spirit as well.

Beside that some kids don’t want to be joystick coached by the all powerful Bob, oh and more than a few kids also prefer not to play long ball like Arlington.

The timing was such that none of the girls could go anywhere else. At least for 2019/20

Unless you are one of those parents who paid in full (which I know of parents who did), I'd go to the club and ask to be released to play elsewhere.

Speaking for myself: we were done with it. This was going to be our last year. NOW, with the new direction it is going in, this is what we wanted all along. And we have the core group to get it done.

I’ll go one further. Why does a kid stay on a team when they only play 10-20 minutes and their club is moving to Springfield?

Hard to know if you’d lie or not seeing as how its an anonymous forum.

I'd be shocked if Balt Armour goes away. The club is run by SAC and Pipeline, both established clubs, and the boys DA program has been around for a while. The WSMD team was run and coached by Pipeline and SAC coaches, all of whom are transitioning to Balt Armour GDA. Also, it is the only DA or ECNL club in Baltimore, with its closest competition to the south east and south west in MDU and BSC. All of which is to say it has the ingredients to be successful.

None of those same things are true of the xWSVA club. It is fair to question whether the new Metro United will be around much longer. I'm very interested to see their rosters for next year.

I was only referring to VA

As in size of roster? Or are you a coach? Or a parent who takes stats and tracking youth players a tad too seriously?

All they have to do is the opposite of what Spirit did. Hard not to improve from there.

So they need to be well run, well coached, and win a ton of games. That is easier said than done. So what's the plan?

Trim the rosters so players that weren't ready are no longer being fielded, and return to at age rosters instead of playing players up as a matter of club practice. That's easy and will produce immediate results. Players from other clubs like FCV and BRYC who are on teams of 20+ might find a roster of 15-16 refreshing.
