So it's in your best interest to find a backup plan now, right? so just go ahead and do it. It's not in Spirit's best interest to announce in January that everything is going to be discontinued (in reality it's an unknown), or people will start jumping ship right now, and players won't be motivated for the next 5 months. Good luck coaching a team that is going to be disbanded after the season, nobody wants to be in that position. So why would Spirit say anything about it before the season? My point is if you think it's in your best interest to find a backup plan, then go do it.
It is a big leap of faith to stick with something amid the rumors while options dry up. The CEO has been made aware of the rumors according to the posted email reply. The reply was a very vague non-committal response at the time of year when ID sessions are about to begin. Spirit would settle things down by posting ID dates.
Of course the owner free to think about it and explore his options but it is the risk of very real opportunity costs. The opportunity costs are the players, both current and potential. Most parents would rather stay but for good reason would be risk averse moving forward.

Yes, they updated their site, but you are wrong about everything else. Click the link. https://washingtonspirit.com/da/
It is basically the exact same information as before (including the outdated ID session in December for the U13 team), except with the new format and a busted link to the Interest form.
I am not saying this means anything, but your post was incorrect.

The FCV staff came up with idea during hiring talks for the pro team, as they felt it was a good tactic to weed out unloyal apples. They are onboard with the ruse and reporting back on any DA players seeking practices or ID sessions with their club. McLean and BRYC staff are also rumored to be on board.
That's interesting, but is it truly disloyal if a parent wants to make sure their kid has somewhere to play next year? After all, if you wait until a roster is full, then your kid gets screwed. FCV has a full load of players already, so it stands to reason that if Spirit were to dissolve, no way they could take in more than a couple.
So what would this tactic actually show them? Disloyalty or having a back up plan as some on this thread have suggested?
It was also a joke, so....
Oh, haha! Ok, I'm the idiot then.![]()

Anonymous wrote:Geez, that's cryptic isn't it? These FCV parents are either intensely loyal, or intensely afraid of being blackballed.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Just curious - has FCV made any internal announcement to its families regarding both their owner and boys director joining the Spirit staff?
There’s nothing on their website or social about it. If you’re an FCV parent - please share.
FCV parents knew before anyone else.
