I thought the same thing, but after talking to a few other families I found out that there are a few handful of kids that joined this year with us that came from first teams at some of the larger clubs in the area. My son played on the first team of a large local club but we weren't happy with the coach so thought we would give Barca a try. Based on that small piece of info alone I think they could be very competitive in any league.
I’m sure the influx of talent will raise the level of the teams eventually but I would not assume taking kids from top teams will instantly translate into league dominance. Team chemistry takes time and the style of play will be an adjustment for some kids if they are used to a more physical style. Barca coaches advance teams and players when they comprehend and follow their methodology not necessarily the ones scoring all the goals.
you have to understand, there are several very rabid and defensive posters in this thread, so don't expect too many rational and tempered responses to any discussion that might be conceived in any way as a negative, whether intended or not.

Where do their younger teams play (u13 and down), or do they not play league games with those age groups?
They play internal matches, because Barca does not want to release them into the wild before they are ready, to avoid embarrassment to the brand. The lower divisions of NCSL or ODSL would make a good fit though.
