Inspired Teaching Demonstration PCS- #15
Two Rivers PCS at 4th Street- #35
Shepherd Elementary School- #54
Burroughs Elementary School- #4
Creative Minds International PCS- #27
Noyes (inbound, guaranteed)

We matched at Ideal PCS, which I ranked #8 at the last minute but now I don't remember why I even put it on the list. The school stats aren't very good. Hoping for Inspired Teaching or Burroughs (both of which are very close to our house).

Swami says you'll have a good year at Burroughs and volunteer for the gardening program after stalling in the top 3 at ITS.

Swami says settle into ITS. Save lots of halfdays for music perfomances and presentations and book parades

both my twins are on waitlist for PK3, how likely are they gonna be able to get in?

West Education Campus Waitlisted - #68
AppleTree PCS - Columbia Heights Waitlisted - #78

girl:
Center City PCS - Petworth Waitlisted - #7
AppleTree PCS - Columbia Heights Waitlisted - #15
West Education Campus Waitlisted - #52
Seaton Elementary School Waitlisted - #57

they are twins, how likely is they can attend the same school if at all?

Swami says they will both enjoy CCP, and you will need to get to know the best way to navigate around the GA Ave vortex

Swami knows you've already enrolled at SWS

I wish! Went up to 5 and now at 2. 12 at MV. Stokes hasn’t moved.

Anonymous wrote:^ Thank you. I can admit when I am wrong and this is a case in which I might be wrong.

I thought about it a lot since I posted and, you know, the response I was looking for was "Hm. I didn't realize your ward didn't have any immersion programs. That's bullshit. How can I help" instead of just flinging a name of one school, no where near where I live, as though that means I do have access. Or giving me data about applications to that school making it seem like there is no demand when I know myself and my neighbors and we didn't apply because we aren't able to drive an hour round trip to get our children there or, in some cases, they don't have a car and can't spend an hour and 30 minutes on bus routes to get there.

I shouldn't be surprised but I was hoping people here would ask how they can advocate for us instead of trying to make it seem like we do have access when we really don't.

I'm sorry that your ward doesn't have immersion programs - that's total BS. I want to help.

Inspired Teaching seems possible to likely by the count deadline, but what about the other two? All our other WL numbers are in the impossible zone.

Swami says ITS isn't impossible, but you may be the last in.

Thanks, Swami!

I feel guilty/greedy even hoping for WL movement since last year we struck out altogether. So grateful to be in this position! It's hard not to feel like a bad lottery number is your fault somehow...

Swami thinks you will get into Cleveland and Seaton and stall in the top three at Thomson (only because of their additional classroom, but choose Seaton bc of the outdoor space)

Swami says, meet with the realtor, post on NextDoor for a carpool, and pull out all the stops. Also there are some great houses near the Cap Heights metro

Got into French and halfway there for Spanish. But still on the fence, and we're definitely not going to move so far from DCI.
