Burroughs Elementary School- #4
Creative Minds International PCS- #27

We matched at Ideal PCS, which I ranked #8 at the last minute but now I don't remember why I even put it on the list. The school stats aren't very good. Hoping for Inspired Teaching or Burroughs (both of which are very close to our house).

What says swami?
Anonymous wrote:^ Thank you. I can admit when I am wrong and this is a case in which I might be wrong.
I thought about it a lot since I posted and, you know, the response I was looking for was "Hm. I didn't realize your ward didn't have any immersion programs. That's bullshit. How can I help" instead of just flinging a name of one school, no where near where I live, as though that means I do have access. Or giving me data about applications to that school making it seem like there is no demand when I know myself and my neighbors and we didn't apply because we aren't able to drive an hour round trip to get our children there or, in some cases, they don't have a car and can't spend an hour and 30 minutes on bus routes to get there.
I shouldn't be surprised but I was hoping people here would ask how they can advocate for us instead of trying to make it seem like we do have access when we really don't.

Inspired Teaching seems possible to likely by the count deadline, but what about the other two? All our other WL numbers are in the impossible zone.

Thanks, Swami!
I feel guilty/greedy even hoping for WL movement since last year we struck out altogether. So grateful to be in this position! It's hard not to feel like a bad lottery number is your fault somehow...

Swami says, meet with the realtor, post on NextDoor for a carpool, and pull out all the stops. Also there are some great houses near the Cap Heights metro
