CNN’s reporting on the Trump-Russia dossier has left out at least one crucial fact: the close ties between the network and the opposition research firm at the center of the dossier controversy.
CNN’s reporting on the dossier, led by justice correspondent Evan Perez, has been favorable to the firm, Fusion GPS, and hyped the dossier’s credibility. Left out of Perez’s reporting, which has relied largely on unnamed sources, is his personal closeness to Fusion GPS’ operatives. Fusion has repeatedly been described in Senate testimonies as a smear-for-hire operation that manufactures misleading or false media narratives for its clients.
Glenn Simpson, the Fusion co-founder most often associated with the dossier, is used to working on stories with Perez. As reporters at The Wall Street Journal, Perez and Simpson regularly co-authored stories on national security.
Where did you get this bullsh*t? Blow it out your a**?

You are implying that Perez and Simpson's history as WSJ journalists together is a black mark. Seems like an indication that they're reputable to me.
Italics indicate no. Daily Caller article. Read it.

You guys need to cut out the Trump can fire anyone stuff. He cannot. There is legislation in place. Mueller can only be fired in writing and for cause. I’m a GS-14 civil service lawyer, and he can’t fire me. Merit Service Protections and all.
Uhhh, not how it works at this level.

Anonymous wrote:Interesting thread. Educating even. Seems we have some DCUM posters with great knowledge. If only they might preface their experience (anonymously of course). This would lend credibility.
Who know who we have posting here! Thanks Jeff and al. for offering such to the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

All opposition research firms are paid to dig up dirt and frame it in a negative light. Where do you think all those negative campaign ads come from?
Russia!

I like this post. Make a statement, put it out there, even though it's totally contradicted by reality. Ballsy. Fake.
You seem simple minded - like most liberals - incapable of the big picture.
The Democrats and Fusion GPS paid for a fake dossier to take away from the Uranium One scandal. Why might you ask?
The Russians have tins to gain by Hillary winning. She’s corrupt, a liar and was benefiting by using the State Dept to fill her coffers. She’s easily corrupted and the Russians zeroed in on her bigly...she’s an easy mark.
Whoever released the documents and the info on the deal have more or less cut off the Russians ability to put their tentacles into the government. Anyone tied to Russ A in the Trump campaign was ousted. Podesta and the like are still free.
My guess, Podesta and company along with Manafort will be there in front of Muller.
Hillary will fall.

Only Rosenstein can fire Muller. So Trump would have to fire Rosenstein and a few others under him, get them replaced and have the new people fire Muller.
I take this back. An AG who isn't recused on the subject could also fire Mueller. So if Trump fired Sessions and replaced him with someone else, that someone else could fire Mueller.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Can Trump simply fire Mueller at this point if the heat really turns up?
He probably could -- although the special counsel position was designed to not allow that. It would be insane for Trump to do it, although I don't know if he realizes that. It would be much worse than firing Comey, and that was very bad for Trump.

Twitter owner hates Trump. So there.
If this were actually true, Twitter would've suspended Trump's account many, many times for violating twitter's terms of service.
Twitter has decided, whether you agree or disagree, that it's not their place to muzzle the president. I think they're correct.
I actually disagree, because nuclear war. But hey, a profit, is a profit, I guess.
Trump has advisors. They could take his phone from him, the way Nixon's advisors handled him. This isn't the job for a private business.

Trump was reported to be furious and melting down this morning. Somebody managed to keep him from responding on Twitter. He is off golfing right now, of course.
