This made me, a 30-something liberal female attorney, so mad! How dare the writers of the Economist disrespect the american voter! In a democracy, the government listens to the people and not the other way around. The liberal elite should not be allowed to impose their own version of the rule of law on America. Over the last twenty years the First Amendment has been almost completely obliterated by the idea of political correctness. People are afraid to say even the simplest things for fear of being misunderstood. Hell, saying "Merry Christmas" is no longer socially acceptable. Laws are enforced at will, or not at all, and the liberal elite feels entitled to disrespect the average Americans, off whose backs they make their living. And this is precisely why people support Trump - because he does not seek to "improve" or "educate" an average voter, but instead shows him respect and actually listens to their opinions - something that, you know, in a democracy, an elected representative is supposed to do.
I read the article as well. It was a dissection of a Trump event in Sarasota at which the majority of attendees were retirees in their dotage. I did not interpret the term wrinklies as a perjorative, but rather a setup for the juxtaposition of senior citizens enjoying their retirement -- not to mention Social Security and Medicare -- in a carnival-like atmosphere (complete with a real-life pachyderm graffitied in chalk with the Trump campaign mantra) with Trumps
'S message of despair about the hapless state of our Nation under Obama. I particularly enjoyed the professed Christian who apparently believed there were lots of things she couldn't say, including "Merry Christmas." The only point missing was the number of these wrinklies with mobility scooters who were regular Fox Newsvviewerd who viewed the US and rest of the world through that distorted prism. Like it or not, Trump's support skews elderly and otherwise lower income and less educated.

I have a couple of friends who are independents who are considering voting for him. I am a conservative woman who finds no one running on either side that I could cast a ballot for at this point. It is pitiful that out of our country the dems could only come up with an old white, socialist, a old white, untrustworthy woman who would be pilloried for her record if she were on the republican ticket, and the republicans are leading with a crazy narcissist, a wacko AA, and a bunch of unremarkable white men. Seriously, America. Can't we do better than this?

I guess your parents know about incidents like this illegal Arab man caught stockpiling ammo:

Wait it says he git rid of his weapons. That's the opposite of stockpiling.
Ammo, sweetheart
So wait, you are saying he got rid of his weapons, but he was stockpiling ammo? That makes ZERO sense. ZERO.
O was free to terminate it and he didn't. He owns what he does in his presidency. Talk about "brain trust."Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:And another good piece on Trump supporters. Spoiler: they're not very well informed.

Yes because your average Obama voter was a Rhodes Scholar. The majority heard that they'd get a free "Obama Phone" if they voted for him.
Dammit! I didn't get one!
That was a Bush program. But hey, you are such a brain trust you already know that.

This "illegal Arab man" entered the country on a student visa. Conservatives can't figure out whether to be aroused or shit themselves when a Muslim on the country illegally is arrested on a weapons charge.
And if you keep reading, you'll see he was kicked out of school and that invalidated his Visa, making him illegal.
I'm sure you read that in the article, but deliberately didn't post it, right? Or did you just stop reading at the point where you thought you had something clever, but instead made an ass out of yourself?
Do you lack reading comprehension skills or are just another dime-a-dozen conservative asshole? Hint: note the word "illegal" in my post.
