THere is really no "proper" way. Do you mean for business? I usually sign "Regards/Warm Regards/Kindest Regards" depending on the content of the email. Sometimes (not often) "Sincerely".

Warm regards makes me think the sender just went her pants.

I hate hearing anyone over the age of about 7 calling their parents "Mommy" and "Daddy"--especially when they are talking to someone else. Like a 30 year old woman saying, "I'm going to out to dinner with Daddy tomorrow". Yuck.

Or when people call their grandmother "Mee Maw." Horrifying.

I totally agree! These people are also the ones that you truly like but have to hide on FB because they clog up your newsfeed with myriad photos of their kid. Like nobody else has ever seen a baby in an adorable outfit before?!
