PP none of these pants is a capri.
Just because ankle hemmed pants have come into style doesn't mean capri pants are flattering and now in style.
the flare crops are probably the closest, but those are ugly as hell themselves.

The capri is hemmed, depending on height, about 6 - 9 inches higher than the ankle pant, at the largest part of your calf which plays a large part in why it's so universally panned.
Nothing like purposefully making your legs look heavier by drawing attention with a hem line. It's also why a tea length skirts can also be so unattractive for hitting the leg in the same place.

I wear ankle length cropped pants but never capris. This year I am thinking of doing more maxi skirts for summer.

Capris - meh. Often bad, but depends on the length/body, etc. (Audrey *did* look good.) Just don't wear the crop flares that are everywhere now. Incredibly unflattering. I have yet to see anyone (celebs included) not look fat and foolish in those.

Audrey Hepburn wore capris quite often and looked great.

I'm in good shape and I wear carpris when I feel like it. Short shorts make your sweaty legs stick to the chair, a skirt makes your sweaty thighs stick together, long pants are hot, so alas- I am going to wear carpis on a hot day when I'm going to be sitting outside. The nice thing is that I don't care what anyone thinks about my capris.

What about corduroy knickers that we wore in the early 80's, LOL! They buttoned just below the knee. Very short fad.

Seriously though, I don't really care what others think. I wear capris instead of shorts because my legs are covered in spider veins. I don't want to wear skirts and dresses like pp said.

And I have seen many women (myself excluded) who look great in them. Long skinny legs, of course.

Capris are back in, haven't you heard? Seriously though, they seem to be showing them in all the stores, and not just Chicos.

At 48, 115 lbs with a great body, I rock my white capris. Find a more productive way to spend your time then being the fashion police.

Capris are comfortable and cool in the hot weather. I'm 50 and I really do not think that they look that bad and they look MUCH better than shorts would on me. I do not feel like wearing skirts and dresses all summer. Those are nice on occasion but capris are nice, every day casual. I'll let Mrs. Duggar wear the long skirt uniform.
