I am a former R and have always believed in strong foreign policy and supported Israel. I stopped supporting Israel years ago when they kept bullying the Palestinian people. Trump's foreign policy is an unmitigated disaster, both in his first administration and the current one.

Maybe there is a method to his madness? Maybe the bluster is calculated on his end to get Israel off his back

I agree with this. If Trump really starts a pivot on how he approaches Iran, he'll pivot at SecDef as well (framing it all as a positive). Hegseth doesn't get 2+ years at this role, and he should have known that all along.

Considering that baseline this is a good outcome.


Trump deciding to participate was the unmitigated disaster. Trump must be held accountable for HIS own decisions. Please don’t pawn it off on another.
