Stop the freaking gaslighting, which, yes, is offensive to everyone who reads your comments.
You claimed JLG is “anti-charter” and the only evidence you have to back up that claim is that she didn’t one particular charter school? I’ve had kids in DCPS across two wards for the past decade and not once has any of the four CMs that covered those two wards over the period visited any of them, but yet I’m not going around shouting about how they are anti-public education.
Not content with making ridiculous unfounded claims, you are now demanding others prove that JLG is explicitly pro-charter? Putting aside the fact that it is questionable whether any DC voter should want such a person as their mayor, her responses to the questionnaire makes blatantly clear that she is not “beholden to her WTU endorsers”. That you doggedly insist otherwise suggest that you are not at all interested in doing anything other than vilifying a particular candidate.
Not gaslighting. It is entirely appropriate for DC voters whose children attend charters to want to know if a mayoral candidate is going to be supportive of the sector educating their children. The reason that almost half of DC's children attend charters is because their parents do not believe that their kids will get a quality education at their neighborhood school.
All of JLG's talking points with respect to DC's charter sector echo the same talking points of the teachers' unions and other anti-charter forces. She said she “strongly support[s] increased oversight of charter schools”---however, there are more oversight and transparency requirements for charter schools already than there are for regular DCPS schools.
She alleged charters are “notorious for self-dealing”; however, the PCSB reviews each charter's financial practices, including contracts with affiliated organizations, and has authority to impose corrective action or close a school for financial mismanagement. (DCPS has had its own share of self-dealing controversies, but those have historically happened at the central office level.)
People can and should do their own research regarding how closely JLG's rhetoric aligns with the players who most want to undermine DC's charter sector.
