The show is not meant to be a true period piece. Odd that her ear cuffs bother you but not the song choices or diverse "ton". Not of that is realistic.

There was a scene where Sophie left the room part dresses with her dress undone and I was thinking that, without zippers, it was nearly impossible to do up your dress yourself. She needed to ask him to help her with her dress before leaving. It’s why servants often wore baggy stuff that slipped over the head with then an apron or an overdress corset type thing that laced in front— and rich people needed dressers. You couldn’t do buttons on your back yourself and lacing wasn’t much better.
