wrong
Not wrong both are better and harder to get into.
Not ND. Has no ED. ED lowers admit rates. Not to mention that ND’s yield is amazing for a school without ED. ND is very underrated. Georgetown is underrated too, but ND should be rated higher than Georgetown.

I generally agree with this, though I’d put Chicago below Brown and Dartmouth at 15.
I said Ivies, Stanford, Duke, CalTech and MIT. That's 12 schools. So being behind those is 13. Though on second thought I might put Northwestern ahead of Chicago and Hopkins - not sure.
chicago and hopkins better than most. sad you couldn’t get in
I am not even sure they should both be in the top 20.
It's ok. Georgetown will do well when Hopkins acquires it.
What do you think is a tougher admit, Hopkins ED or Georgetown EA? If you want to maximize your admission chances, apply ED to Hopkins or its fake top-10 brother, Chicago.

Different poster. He's not wrong. They're the only top10 schools that have ED2.
The only reason to have ED2 is to get a second shot at top students who didn't choose you ED1.
Kind of a dumb take. No one EDs to brown, dartmouth, cornell, etc as a dream school. It's because they didn't feel as confident going for HYPSM. I think it's smart to offer ED2. Most people who end up at lower top 10s had bigger dreams but landed at a solid backup.
huh? Countless people ED to each of these as their absolute dream school. My kid did. They had the stats for any school on the planet and ZERO desire to attend HYP. Can you step away from your prestige and ranking whore mindset for 10 seconds?
Incredibly stupid. People ED to CMU, Emory, Cornell, Dartmouth, Columbia etc. You're telling me if they were handed an acceptance letter from Stanford or Harvard, they would turn it down? How about you step away from delusion.
yes, 1000%. My own DC did.

UC Davis is an excellent, all around school, with a charming college town setting, without toxic, competitive students.
In California, it is considered too far from the coast, from the mountains, from SF, even though it would be considered close to them if it were on the east coast.
As good or better than Georgia Tech, NYU, BC, Tufts? If it were on the east coast, it would be competing with Rutgers-Newark and UMass-Lowell (not even the Rutgers and UMass flagships).

Davis is a great school. Better than many overpriced privates like wake, emory, and georgetown.

Emory

UC Davis is overrated, Emory and GU underrated.
Now do cost of tution and average salary compared to Emory and GU, the stats that really matter. Especially UC Davis engineering vs the latter two.
Now you do that comparison to Georgia Tech, which shares the #32 ranking with Davis.

I am not a big fan of Chicago or Hopkins but their top students are probably smarter than a lot of HYP these days. HYP admissions is not based on academic merit.

Where do you get this from? UC Davis has not accepted SAT scores for 4 years so this is just not accurate.
College board and they do take test scores for placement, just not admissions.
