Do you know how many kids are entirely devastated by the loss of this building that they called their own home? The sale was devastating for many families and children. While you all marvel at the architecture, you're forgetting that it was made for a particular type of community, and a beautiful one at that who don't have any other place like this in the area. These messages are so cold and distant from the reality that all these families and kids are now displaced and don't know where to go. The school actually brought a lot of good to the county with the diverse and international population. Many families with accomplished backgrounds even moved families to the county and brought their businesses to this area because of the school. Keeping the school as KAA actually better served the overall county. This sale has hurt too many people, and not a single post here has shown any empathy for the kids who have been crying about it. you are all parents. I would think you would know this yourselves.

Including 1). leakage to TJHSST 2). Some HS dropouts taken into consideration. Which would be similar to South Lakes, Oakton, and Chantilly HS once those kids are removed. The question is how much a depleted Westfield can then backfill with Centreville.
Well, you’re going to move Bull Run into Westfield and Willow Springs into Centreville. And then there is a split feeder like Powell that could consolidate at Centreville as well.
Ultimately will this end up turning Fairfax HS exclusively into a school for Fairfax City students?
I can't see that happening unless they put Lee's Corner at Westfield and then greenbriar east to Chantilly. I think that has about 0.01% chance of that though.
They won't move Lees Corner, 3xcept neighborhoods near 28.
I only mentioned because in the new scenarios, THRU has about half the school going to Westfield. But I agree they won't move the whole school.

Carson and the Western HS should be : Floris Coates, McNair, Fox Mill, Oak Hill, and Crossfield ~ 600 kids per grade
Isn’t capacity at KAA 1200? I don’t think it can take on that many kids
The link PP just posted says the building is 320,000 sq ft. For comparison, Centreville HS without the modular is 325,000 sq ft, so I’m guessing this school will end up having a capacity around 2000 when they convert it from K-12 to 9-12
There are also two administrative buildings on the campus, 2950 and 2954 Education Dr, to the west of the main building. They are 15,000 sq ft each. They would make for some super fancy modulars if they needed to squeeze a few more kids in.

Because what this country needs is more Starbucks employees with six-figure college debt.
