I’m a (cis) woman, and it’s not a slur. It’s an adjective. It costs me nothing to be respectful and inclusive. Whole lot of “victim dysmorphia syndrome” over here.

How does 'cis' say you are not normal? It doesn't.
It's the reason behind the use of the term "cis" that really has everyone the most upset. Why?
Because 98% of the population believe Woman/Girl=Female and Man/Boy=Male -- therefore this is the norm. Period. Why start using a term and forcing people to use a term that is not necessary?
The default -- as it is 98% the norm -- is that women are female and men are male. The other 2% are the exception and must use "trans" -- meaning Trans Man or Trans Woman. The majority are "cis" - there is simply no need to use "cis" as a descriptor.

I think the use of "cis" should not be the norm. The norm - for 98% of the population - is that they are "cis-gender", a woman is a female and a man is a male. As this is the norm...you shouldn't have to make "cis" a common term used in everyday language. It's pointless. Now...I'm perfectly fine if people want to use that term for themselves...but don't expect the majority of the population to just roll over and agree to start saying "cis-gender" as a self descriptive gender identity.
I've only ever seen the term cis used in discussions about transgender people.
