I’m pretty sure most people—except for diehard MAgA cult members—don’t think it’s a good idea to pardon the most violent of the Jan 6 offenders. Even Vance was taken by surprise.

You have to remember most of the Capitol police stayed away that day. Only the minority or “libs” officers worked that day. The rest are like the Secret Service - hardcore maga who supported the coup.
