+1 And yet people defend these guys.

+ 100. Jay-z issuing grammar-compromised rants, publicly, after he was sued was damning to me. I have faith that he is guilty and is in trouble with Buzbee. I look forward to Carter’s skeletons coming out of the closet- no man has benefited as much from PR cleanup crews in the internet age. Once more is in pleadings, we can wave bye to subnormal fans insisting that him shoving a woman by the face was “playful mushing” and that his very long term affiliations and friendships with Puff and R Kelly mean less than his marriage. It’s gonna be good.

Who said those two were friends with R Kelly? Just because they are all black? R Kelly made r&b music from the Midwest, the other two are part of the new york rap scene.

It is well documented they were friend and collaborated/worked together. How can you not know this?

It's so funny how Jay Z is now saying he wasn't friends with Diddy.

Just friends with each other making millions producing music that demeans and denigrates women, while treating them terribly as well.

This.

There was an old SNL skit bashing R Kelly that brilliantly used his lyrics against him, underscoring that nobody should have been surprised by his criminal behavior.

And the same is likely the case for Jay Z.

I’m so sick of the horrible lyrics and subcultural norms glorified in some rap music. Perhaps this will prompt a shift.

+1 Here's hoping!!

Differ t types of business, but I would not call them a friend necessarily. It’s not personal. It’s business.

Is your job gang rapping kids?

Is your job stalking social media and judging people guilty based on tic tic memes and Twitter posts without the benefit of a defense and trial. Has America devolved so low when it comes to quick character assassination that citizens are now guilty until proven innocent.

So now you people on this thread are equating former President Obama with gang raping children because of business and photos he took with Jay Z, and Jay Z of gang raping because of his business dealing with Diddy. You people are dumb and dumber.

WOW. I guess you are ok with it, or truly are rapist yourself.

I personally think it’s dumb to refuse to listen to music by a certain artist just because you don’t like them as a person.

I think Michael Jackson was a pedophile but still love to listen to “Beat It.”

No pun there right??
NP. People can do what they want, but it would be tough to stop listening to all the music associated with these artists. Just P Diddy alone; I don't think people realize how much R&B and rap music Diddy had his hands in. I'm hard-pressed to think of what top artists in those genres did not work with Diddy. I mean, Diddy co-wrote and produced with Aretha Franklin for one of her albums. And then all the artists that he signed under Bad Boy Records. Also, his umbrella company Combs Enterprises. Did you know that Diddy designed the Mavericks alternative jersey for two seasons? Good luck avoiding all things associated with Diddy and Combs Enterprises.

Agreed. It's unrealistic to stop listening or taking in everything and artist does because they're bad.

They're not artists.
This conversation's point has gone completely over your head.

Not at all. They're not "artists." They're into making tons of money through lyrics and behavior that show very little or no respect for women.

The conversation was about supporting these people by listening to their music or partaking in their products. What you call them (artist or not) is irrelevant. You could start a new thread to discuss what their label should be.

Technically, your conversation is irrelevant to the title of the thread.
This is a 22-page thread; numerous conversations are irrelevant to the thread topic.

PP here. Technically, yes! Can't imagine why anyone thought otherwise or would call out any comments.

Just like he Jay Z recorded TWO albums with R Kelly long AFTER Kelly was exposed as a predator. And he was mentored by Russell Simmons, currently hiding out in some foreign country? Lie down with dogs and you get fleas!

Obama is friends with P-diddy and Jay Z too.

Well, surely he will now repudiate these folks and their despicable promotion of demeaning lyrics/music about women and violent behavior towards women.
