What this area needs is water turf, the club that has access to that will be a differentiator. Most of the top clubs have access to the faster turf

The sport of field hockey is growing fast. There is room for new teams, especially for youths interested in field hockey prior to high school. The local rec leagues aren’t cutting it and the St. James will be able to provide the indoor venue that is very much needed in Fairfax County. Check back in a few years - the Jackals will become formidable if the coaching at the St. James is good.

Search this thread. Someone said they bought Jackles. I’d stay away.

Freedom has about 6 to 9 teams attempting to qualify at the U16 and U19 levels. I remember last year when a very competitive mom from my kid's school team excitedly let me know that her kid's U19 Mustangs team "beat Freedom's #2" at the NITQs. I wish I could say I felt bad letting her know that was Freedom's #6. They both qualified. My kid plays a different club altogether, but there is no denying that Freedom is untouchable. I don't know why people want to argue this.

There was an NITQs at Meadowbrook in Maryland yesterday and today. Does anybody know who qualified from the DMV teams that went?

Some Northern Virginia teams traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina for NITQs. U16 Metro Leopards did not qualify. Perfect Performance Mustangs sent 2 U16 teams and 1 U19 team. They did not qualifyfor NITs.

Freedom has like 8 different teams per age group, no need to scream from the roof if your top team is beating a lower level team.

At the Virginia Beach Field House, U16 Freedom Zircon did not qualify. U16 Metro Lions went undefeated and qualified! U19 Metro Lions qualified but U19 Metro Tigers did not qualify. Congrats to all the teams that qualified in Virginia Beach.

At United Sports, U19 Freedom Jade went undefeated and qualified for NITs. U19 Freedom Opal also qualified. It looks like both U16 Freedom Tourmaline and Ruby both qualified. U19 Freedom Tanzanite did not qualify. Both U16 Warhawks (Embers and Inferno) did not qualify nor did U19 Warhawks Scorch. Both U16 Husel (undefeated) and U19 Husel qualified for NITs. Congrats to all the teams that qualified at United Sports!

They beat the non-top Freedom team. They still qualified and good on them but they had a weak pool.

By your definition, if husel was in a weak pool, then shouldn’t Freedom’s team have qualified?

Um, no. It's possible to be the strongest of a weak pool. Surely you know that.
