Yes, Chinese Spy Balloons Flew Over The U.S. When President Trump Was In Office Too

Complete lack of urgency bla bla bla.

This pretty much demonstrates that all of the "Trump woulda..." and "If Republicans were in charge they'da.." comments are complete BS.

Little hint. When the media starts posting stories like this and the one about how heroic Biden was turning the tables on China, it’s strictly to help the Prez save face.

Nah, it just raises the question of why Trump didn't do anything when the Chinese invaded our airspace on his watch.

One top national security official from the administration of former President Donald Trump said none of the Chinese spy balloons were near sensitive sites or had payloads as large as this one appears to carry,

I am old enough to remember the Trump Administration telling tens of thousands of documented lies. Why would you believe them at this point? Do you enjoy being lied to in such an obvious manner?

He has been allowing millions of migrants to illegally enter our country with not only NO ramifications, but they are rewarded for doing so.

He "allowed it" because our military and intelligence professional advised that it would be helpful to learn about Chinese capabilities. And...he didn't want the debris to harm American lives or property.

US Miltiary also said they rendered the devices on the balloon inperable, so there is nothing the Chinese gained from this other than further eroding US-China relations.

Stop creating controversy where there isn't one.

I know right? This was my thought too. What are they going to gain from an enormous balloon that they don't have a hundred space based satellites for? With less international humiliation.

Nor were any balloons that may have breached our air space allowed the travel across the entire country with no consequence.

Is it possible this was some rogue spying attempt.

Maybe I'm being naive, but it's hard for me to imagine that the most senior levels of the Chinese government would think this was a good thing to do.

Trump and the republicans do not really think that far ahead.

Yes, you are naive and you're backpeddling after the fact.

Chinese imagery satellites suck and this filled gaps.

On top of it, you democrats waited until it completed its SIGINT and IMINT mission before shooting it down.

I'm sure Biden will blame the pentagon like he did for Afghanistan. Everyone sees thru the cover story.

Lol there is no “gaps” or “imagery” issues. The republicans give the Chinese everything they need. This balloon was a clear signal from the chines to the republicans. We need to watch for republican 5th column actions.

Navy divers have already recovered anything worth recovering.

I'm not asking if they've recovered stuff. I'm asking whether it could have been made to come down more slowly so we could recover MORE stuff.

I highly doubt there is much on there worth recovering, but unless there was a parachute associated with the "sensitive stuff" gravity would do its job either way, unless you thought they should have flown an aircraft through the falling debris to try to recover it in mid air.

Trump allowed three of these balloons to incur US airpsace with no disclosure and no retaliation. He didn't shoot them down. Clowns like Mike Pompeo and Marco Rubio KNEW this and yet they criticized Biden for inaction.

The thing you need to now about Trump and Chinese balloons is that Trump literally had a bank account in China and was drawing money from them WHILE HE WAS PRESIDENT.

But sure, Biden.

Stop the gaslighting.

I'm the individual you're quoting. and i have no idea what you're referring to.

this balloon was a very rudimentary 'spying' attempt 'floated' (literally and figuratively) right before Blinken was due to visit China. I think it's justifiable to ask who authorized this and whether top levels of CPC knew about it.

As far as Afghanistan - no idea what you're carrying on about - Trump did a massive role down and escalated the exit once he knew he lost. Your point is what?

If you want to get into a debate about Biden vs Trump - i'll just say I'm grateful that the Biden admin took out al-Sudani after Trump and his loser admin completely crippled us in Africa with no push back from congress at all. But that's another thread.

Biden got a call from Winnie the Pooh after the balloon’s mission was over, and he was granted permission to shoot it down.

Good job, Joe.
