The thread name is Whittle. Whittle School is no more. Since everyone here seem to complain about Dennis Bisgaard, former Whittle HoS and incoming HoS at Maret in 2023, can the thread name just be changed to Maret HoS then?

No I don’t think Bisgaard got the job at Maret to channel the students here, but I think a whole generation of parents got mislead by a small self-interested group of former admin and parents, and don’t think that the possible graft, rent-seeking behaviors, conflict of interest, insider dealing, favoritism (including the children of connected parents securing an otherwise impossible spot at Maret), if present, are unlikely to magically stop in a different setting.

If I were a journalist or a parent considering a lawsuit, I’d look closely into the parents on the committee and advisory board and other governance boards, who allegedly included Bisgaard, a “health” firm owner, a slumlord etc.

Plenty juicy stuff there and just calling intelligent people asking obvious questions trolls won’t make it go away.



She left before the school year was over. I don’t understand this bisgaard slander. The facts are Dennis left two years ago and she left before the year ended. Her role at whittle was good and I’m sure if you ask any whittle student she was one who brought a smilie on their faces after hearing related lies from VG and MR. They had to know something and if they did it’s terrible they didn’t advise others before the trash letter.


Agreed. The school is over. One YEAR LONG experience shouldn’t taint someone’s career and portray how they would work at a new school. I agree with the new focus(one family in particular) worked very very closely with him and was active in regards to every deal and message however now they are no where to be found.


Hard disagree on Bisgaards. Totally in the middle of the mess with lots to gain. He promoted Whittle on his twitter as recently as 2021 and she stayed on through the bitter end and presumably was entitled to her stipend. Made sure their kid graduated before it folded.

Also, not a 1 year experience. He was the founding hos who presumably either knew everything and got out of the way (or thought he could, but I hope not) before the inevitable. He started at Whittle on the payroll in 2018, possibly earlier, before it ever opened the doors, didn’t leave until what about 2 years into the school? Was mentioning Whittle on his twitter in 2021 etc. and she stayed on. Come on people. You’re not that easy to fool

Jaw dropping and yet completely in character and expected. I am so glad we are not in Maret.

How many dodgy people are these folks beholden to? Someone needs to write a book. We are overdue for a nice DC scandal.

And a few lawsuits. Not against WHITTLE but the purse holders who misled their fellow parents for their own self interest. Also review how a few of these kids with no education to speak off got into GU etc. which showed it susceptibility to the admission scandal previously as well

I think Maret parent body should protest and withdraw fees until a reputationally sound choice is made to reverse a what someone reported was a dictum to the board on whom to select.

Who was behind it? Start with the parents committee and follow the money

Did they also sign a thing that said they needed to keep one of them there to collect board fees, help make investment decisions, represent employees against their will (they tried to have an elected representative but a Bisgaard happily held this role in 2022), keep reassuring the other parents to stay, keep their child in, just so they could graduate at no cost or vastly reduced fees?

They weren’t gagged, they were absolutely complicit

Ditto the other parents on the investment committee. Look up their companies and where the wealth has come from. It read to me like a litany of consumer protection breaches with poor and POC left in the wake. Shame!

I’d love to see OAG bring a series of lawsuits or consumer protection inquiry related to Whittle and the parents’ committee, resulting in a nice big fine for helping the cover up for selfish reasons. The fine can go to DCPS

Don’t agree its time to let the Bisgaards off the hook but totally agree it’s time to put a magnifying glass on the parents’ committee.

nor her husband ever said a word to help or point out the issues, not even today. How’s that for a backbone and character?

When was her last stipend paid? Not a word said is slander — all quoted issues are facts reported elsewhere and all the questions are legitimate.

What’s your interest in defending the parents’ committee and the admin?
