St Alban’s program is on the rise. Looks like the Next Level pipeline is helping.

How are The Heights and Good Counsel looking this season?

Based on some early game results the WCAC and IAC appear to be neck and neck this year.

PVI plays Landon to a one goal game.

DeMatha nearly takes down St. Stephens. The Stags had a 5 goal lead in the 4th Quarter and the Saints came storming back to win in the final minute.

St Johns beat Prep earlier in the week by a goal.

St. Albans gave Gonzaga all they could handle yesterday. Who would have thought STA would have played the Purple Eagles to a one goal game late in the 4th. The Bulldogs are going to challenge some teams in the IAC this Spring.

Congrats to all teams and coaches on a great start to the HS season!

I’d be curious too. I’m a parent at another girls school but we don’t play them till mid season. Who has played them so far?

No one local has played Visi yet. Visi will be good enough to beat all the other area girls schools (SR, Holton, Holy Child, and NCS) but Im wondering more if they will give SSSAS a run this year. BI (in WCAC) will kill everyone including SSSAS if they meet in the VISAA finals (as the usually do). BI is absolutely stacked this year with top committs to UNC, UVA, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Navy, VT, and more. Insanely talented roster. The other top WCAC girls teams are OLGC and Holy Cross but those teams rarely play the ISL teams.

Currently I'd rank the ISL AA teams as follows but the middle 4 are really pretty much even:

SSSAS
Visi
Holton
Potomac
Stone Ridge
Episcopal
Flint Hill
Holy Child

Why is Bullis playing such a weak OOC schedule?

And PVI may win WCAC this year. Ahead of GZ and SJC

Calverton loss to the Heights last year by 10+ goals. That is all you need to know about their program.

The hyped Bullis boys team opened up their season with a 16-1 win over Calverton. Any take aways here? Is Calverton any good? I also saw Landon squeaked out a win over Paul VI which was somewhat surprising, IMO.

Dematha has two midfielders and that is it. I can think of 8 other middies in the area that would have similar stats if they were the only option on their respective teams. They are not their teams only options so it’s apples and oranges.

If we look at attack, there are plenty of just as good. To say someone is the best in the area on a two option team is just silly.

If you have ever watched DeMatha, they do have 1 stud midfielder who is outstanding. Is he the BEST player in the DMV? Maybe not, but he is fun to watch.
