Like someone else said, possession is key. If you don’t have the ball, you can’t score. Madison uses a draw stick, Yorktown doesn’t. Advantage Madison. That said, Cosby did a nice job keeping the draw control fairly even, something like 12 to Madison 10 to Cosby. Maybe Yorktown learns something from the film. So, like you said they both have very talented players. To me, it will come down to coaching. Recognizing what the other is doing and adjusting to neutralize. In the first half of the Cosby/Madison game Madison played man to man defense. Cosby kept it close and it would have been even closer were it not for a Cosby yellow card that resulted in 2 player-up goals. In the second half, Madison came out with a high-pressure defense and Cosby was completely flummoxed. And I think Madison definitely made adjustments from the first time they played Yorktown and as such were successful the second time. So, can Yorktown counter? And if so, what does the Madison coach do to stay one step ahead? Should be a great game. Both deserving teams.

I think that poor WP goalie had almost as many saves as YT had goals. The ball was at that end almost the entire game.

WePo goalie got exposed. Laughable and overrated. Ran into a lion in the jungle when they played us.

Hmm…this sounds personal. As a YT parent whose kid played club with her, nothing about her is laughable or overrated. We could have easily won by 40. But she more than held her own.

It's really going to come down to draw control (# of possessions). Both offenses are difficult to stop. Should be a good game.

It’s appalling. In 20 years of kids playing competitive sports I simply can’t imagine denigrating a players ability.

If you are on DCUM you have denigrated a player's ability at least once in your life. You are not on here to stimulate your brain.

Petition VHSL to change it up. They finally cross populated regions. That gave us an all Region D final this year.

They should switch it up each year.
A vs B and C vs D
following year
A vs C and B vs D
following year
A vs D and B vs C

I'm sure even if VHSL did approve it, some would still complain.
