Which groups are you talking about? I live in the area and I've never heard anyone discourage it.

Well, the area of the property sold to the Saudis should have no effect on Langley. It would pull from the Oak Hill area and not Herndon. It would pull from Westfield, Chantilly, Oakton and South Lakes. (Maybe, it was the South Lakes PTA that objected......?)
I love how a certain part of Herndon has rebranded itself.

You’re funny. Herndon has many offerings including many APs — more than supposedly better schools.
Herndon is not a small school.
But it is high FARMS.

How do you propose we drop kids? Like everyone with last name P-Z doesn't get to go to high school? Fend for yourselves? Go into the trades?
More schools or schools with flexible spaces or have morning/afternoon schools (2 in 1).

If they keep building bigger schools, expect incidents like what happened at West Potomac today to keep happening. The students and teachers/administrators are practically strangers. Having grown up in a rough place I can tell you metal detectors don’t work. FCPS needs to get schools down to manageable sizes.

DP. I questioned whether there was really a need to expand Centreville to 3000 seats and never got a clear answer, only that some kids who attend Oakton live closer to other schools. Didn’t bring up Langley at all.
