They would have to build four more 2000-student high schools for that to happen. But of course we've seen they are incapable of building even more one more additional high school in western Fairfax.
Certain groups have blocked the western high school construction for years because they knew it would trigger a boundary adjustment and they didn't want to change schools. Now the whole county is getting stuck with the boundary adjustment and no new school to show for it.
Which groups are you talking about? I live in the area and I've never heard anyone discourage it.
She’s the one who spends day after day going after Langley.
Well, the area of the property sold to the Saudis should have no effect on Langley. It would pull from the Oak Hill area and not Herndon. It would pull from Westfield, Chantilly, Oakton and South Lakes. (Maybe, it was the South Lakes PTA that objected......?)
I love how a certain part of Herndon has rebranded itself.

Smaller HS are fine in middle class and higher income areas, but in lower income areas they need to be larger to increase the class offerings. Even though ACHS is lower income, it is also huge, and can thus offer the high level math, STEM, specialty arts classes etc. because they have enough students to take them just by virtue of their size. You can get there with a smaller number of students at a wealthier school. Small school and high FARMS is not a good combination.
You’re funny. Herndon has many offerings including many APs — more than supposedly better schools.
Herndon is not a small school.

How do you propose we drop kids? Like everyone with last name P-Z doesn't get to go to high school? Fend for yourselves? Go into the trades?

If they keep building bigger schools, expect incidents like what happened at West Potomac today to keep happening. The students and teachers/administrators are practically strangers. Having grown up in a rough place I can tell you metal detectors don’t work. FCPS needs to get schools down to manageable sizes.

Langley and McLean should just incorporate like Falls Church.
