Thank you for sharing that. It’s hard to tell the elevation on Google maps. I’m shocked they attempted to do this given the weather conditions.

No, I think the baby died first, the parents were distraught and couldn't function. Or dad felt very sick, sat down with baby to rest and died. Either way distraught mom eventually tried to go for help but didn't make it.
I would think the baby died first as well. Babies do not have the same ability to regulate temperature as adults and I imagine being inside a carrier would make it even hotter.

I mostly stopped reading this thread right after the boulder theory because it was just getting ridiculous and gross with the murder theories. The obvious answer was the right one. Dog leash tethered to husband.
Also possible that the dog and baby were experiencing heat exhaustion before or at the same time as the parents. Reading the reports, they didn’t have a dog water bowl with them.

The baby was touching the dad in the carrier so any overheating by him would transfer to the baby, or vice versa.

Sad. I think Dad or baby died first. Originally I thought Mom died first. Now I think Mom was behind, when she caught up Dad was not feeling well or already gone. She forged ahead but was already exhausted and distraught. I also wonder whether heat stroke is going to be more common with climate change, whether it was poor judgement to hike that day, or a Domino effect. RIP.
