We had that before he started the war. So, he started a war, surrendered, and is now sending our money to the country that defeated us.

ART OF THE DEAL.

It is Iranian money that was kept here that we are going to send back.
Everyone who was against the start of the Iran war now should support the end of the war.

That's different. Iran gets $300B for reparations AND unfrozen assets (probably +interest). We were told Trump was a deal maker playing 4d chess. This is pure surrender.

Consequences of this war will be born by US population. What consequences is Trump facing? I say we cut into the $300B by seizing Trump assets.

Again - get a grip and educate yourself. The $300 billion is a reconstruction fund made up of private investors and companies from the Gulf countries and elsewhere around the world. The U.S. isn't paying Iran one cent. And Iran *only* has access to the fund if they comply with the rest of the agreement, to include no longer pursuing a nuclear weapon.

The frozen assets (no interest) belonged to Iran in the first place. I'd say this is a pretty good deal.

DP

Ok - keep telling yourself that.

Nobody trusts anything coming from Trump and his cronies so their assurances about the sourcing of the $300B is probably BS. Given the way Iran has been dogwalking Trump, not holding out too much hope that the final agreement will be any better. Iran still holds all the cards and Trump and his RE agent "negotiators" are out of their depth.

Still say that seizing Trump & family assets is a good way to pay down some of the costs of this excursion.

Ok, you're clearly not a serious person. This is a good deal, as long as Iran holds up their end of the bargain. That remains to be seen.

Given the contours of this agreement, why bother to have a war. Trump could have capitulated to Iran without spending hundreds of billions of military hardware and lives.

The US did not achieve a single one of the goals it stated were the reason for the war. All of our GCC allies no longer trust our security guarantee and will be looking elsewhere, likely china. The Iranians have come out of this with no more sanctions, release of $100B or so of frozen funds, $300B in investments, and permanent control of the SOH. There’s no way to spin this as anything but a disaster for the US.

I can spin it as " cut your losses" and move on.

Then just end the blockade, stop the bombing and come home. Why codify a nuclear program, or offer money and funds to rebuild and re-arm Hezbollah?

No you can’t. “Cut your losses” would have been with the previous poster said. Trump could’ve just said “I’m done peace out” But no! instead we’re GIVING them money AND removing the sanctions.

If you don’t care about Americans, then at least think about the Iranian people who’ve been suffering and now are going to suffer even more under this brutal regime that has been handed money and power on a silver platter from Trump

The problem is this is just so much worse than just cutting the losses. It really signals how weak the US is now. It's amazing at how.much Trump has ruined the US in such a short period of time.

This chart shows the comparison, point by point, with the JCPOA.

It is pretty stark how truly horrible this is.

Stop lying. Just stop. Trump messed up bigly and US taxpayers are on the hook for this catastrophe.

Trump messed up, Yes.
Is it better to exit Iran war now than after 20 years, Yes.

I wanted the war to end too (never wanted it in the first place) but that doesn't mean I'm not going to be upset that the US is now so incompetent they put together this "deal". It's worse than had we just done an Irish goodbye on the region.

This is a great point. If Trump just said “wars over, peace out,” we’d be better off. We’d still have the money and we would still have sanctions on them.

I can't imagine someone yelling "it's a good deal" when we lost billions and gave Iran complete control of a valuable shipping lane.

We're way worse off than we were in January, and comparing this to Obama's deal, it's not even the same ballpark. Anyone still MAGA enough to defend this is either a paid troll or just completely delusional.

Another slap in the face is that the MOU says that Iran never wanted a nuke in the first place - and Trump signed it. His idiot SIL and partner in crypto crime basically gave up.

Waiting to hear about Trump Tehran or Kushner Island in the Hormuz. Grifting is in their blood.

I knew this wasn't going to end well for the US but this is even worse than I imagined. Turns out firing everyone at the State Department who knew what they were doing has consequences.

And rhe fact that he signed it at Versailles, woof. Did literally no one Google that?
