No. They would be fired for cause.
Some of you parents are the worst. You are pushing me over to the teachers side just because I feel sorry they have to deal with such crap parents

Yes, I'd prefer larger classes to anti-vax teachers.
NP but it won’t lead to larger classes it will lead to a substitute teacher. If there are subs who are vaccinated . . .
DP it will definitely lead to students in classrooms on tech doing some sort of “lesson” through canvas while being watched by whatever 21+ year old person the school can find. I am a teacher who 100% supports the mandate, but also thinks it’s fair to be transparent on what will happen personnel -wise
I appreciate you saying this. I would hope that teachers who refuse to be vaccinated under a mandate see that they wouldn’t have much support. The narrative last year was that teachers needed the vaccine in order to teach in person. They early access to the vaccine, before other people who had been actually already working in person. It seems sort of the height of hypocrisy for teachers to now say they shouldn’t have to get the vax.
+1 They fought for it and now they can get it or go.
Ok. Where are the replacements going to come from? Make sure you are thinking this through. Districts are begging for teachers these days. And they couldn’t staff the monitor positions even when they wanted to last year. Are you going to step up?

How antivax are teachers that we are going to have a significant shortage under a vax mandate? You are suggesting it’s pretty significant.
I’m a DP who has mentioned on other threads that even a small percentage relates to a significant number of dcps teachers. 94% of teachers who filled out the vaccination survey that DCPS sent out reported they were vaxxed. Even if we were overly optimistic and project that out over a ~6000 person workforce that’s 360 teachers. People can infer what they want about who did and didn’t fill out the survey but 360 people would be very hard to replace three weeks before PD
