And, paid her friend's firm millions - far above the normal rate.
Nice grift.

Abrams’ campaign chair collected millions in legal fees from voting rights organization

The voting rights organization founded by Stacey Abrams spent more than $25 million over two years on legal fees, mostly on a single case, with the largest amount going to the self-described boutique law firm of the candidate’s campaign chairwoman.

Allegra Lawrence-Hardy, Abrams’ close friend who chaired her gubernatorial campaign both in 2018 and her current bid to unseat Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, is one of two named partners in Lawrence & Bundy, a small firm of fewer than two dozen attorneys.

The firm received $9.4 million from Abrams’ group, Fair Fight Action, in 2019 and 2020, the last years for which federal tax filings are available. Lawrence-Hardy declined to comment on how much her firm has collected from Fair Fight Action in 2021 and 2022 — years in which Fair Fight Action v. Raffensperger, for which Lawrence-Hardy was lead counsel, had most of its courtroom activity.

Fair Fight Action has maintained that the suit — which ended last month when a federal judge ruled against the group on all three remaining claims — served an important role in drawing attention to voting inequities. But some outside the group questioned both the level of expenditures devoted to a single, largely unsuccessful legal action and the fact that such a large payout went to the firm of Abrams’ close friend and campaign chair. Those concerns were heightened by the fact that Abrams’ national campaign against voter suppression galvanized the Democratic Party, many of whose top donors helped fill its coffers.

As a Dem, I am sorry to read that Abrams may have gotten her hands dirty in the way that establishment politicians like Kemp so often do. It is disappointing and, even if she did nothing wrong, it's not a good look. But neither is the pay-to-play corruption of Kemp (https://endcitizensunited.org/latest-news/press-releases/brian-kemps-blatant-pay-to-play-corruption-continues-to-benefit-his-wealthy-donors/). So Georgian voters will have to choose between two imperfect candidates.

She doesn’t need him!

Looking at the current polls, she needs something.

Most people in Georgia are pleased with Kemp's overall leadership, even if they don't agree with all of his views. He will win re-election.

It's almost like Georgia is not her target market and like election isnt her actual goal.

Stacey Abrams lost her bid to become Georgia’s governor in 2018. Almost overnight she devoted herself to peddling the fiction that her defeat was the result of voter suppression. She peddled it in talk-show appearances, interviews and magazine articles and on glitzy book tours. Ms. Abrams created a false narrative that much of her target audience was willing to accept and echo over the past four years.

The difference is the whole party didn’t play along with her beliefs. We just moved on.

Uh, no. Many of you absolutely idolize her. You have done anything but “move on.”

We moved on from her claims about the 2018 election. We didn’t fall all over ourselves to believe her claims about the election, or commit felonies to try to prove her right.

NP. OK, but many folks on the left still seem to think she won. Are they election deniers?

They're uneducated rubes - just borrowing a phrase the left loves to bandy about.

+1
I can't wait to see Kemp win this election. He's a good man. His editorial really made it clear how looney Abrams' claims were/are.

Abrams blew him off when he came to Atlanta to give a speech. His speech was too divisive even for her.
