Most of the livid people are dumb-asses who think the appropriations were added to the covid bill instead of the reverse. They are outraged that regular federal programs are funded in the bill for that purpose.

Why do congressmen and senators agree to vote on stuff that can't possibly be read by anyone in the time allowed? This is crazy.

Most of the sections of the bill are regular appropriations for fiscal year 2021 and have been known and understood for a while except for a few issues recently negotiated. Congress had to hold up the 2021 appropriations vote to add the covid relief package because the Senate can only have one big vote for everything because it has so many Republican assholes who obstruct things that they have to limit it to only one target. The Covid negotiations have been relatively transparent so any Members or Senators who have taken any interest should know what is in the bill.

They want us all to remember that we are their slaves and should just be happy to have some food. Even a roof over our heads is too much to ask for.

The US suffers from its past with slavery in so many ways.

This is the odd thing. He signed another CR, but not this bill.[/quote

The parler crowd is using the omnibus bill to foment opposition. Lost on them is the fact that this bill is a Mitch and Trump show.

Ask Mitch.

The House passed individual appropriations bills while the Senate did not. Backbenchers voted for it because they had to. Mitch is the one who waited until ten days past the last minute.

The bill also funds the government through the end of the fiscal year. If it doesn’t get passed, the government shuts down ... again. That didn’t play well with the republican base last time.

I get all that but do they understand the terrible optics of giving bankrupt Americans $600 and giving Ukraine etc. millions of dollars? It's just foolish to invite criticism and anger and this point in time. Settle the Covid bill and do the government and foreign aid separately. Politicians can still trade this for that. Sheesh

Talk to Mitch
