Watching Yoo Yeon Seok play the drums for Canon gives me great joy. I have rewatched that scene countless times. (Season 1, episode 4, last 12 minutes of the episode.) Love it so much.

I've watched about 40 kdramas now, and Goo Dong Mae is still one of the most memorable and heartbreaking characters I've seen. He is the Tim Riggins of kdrama.

I don’t think it was open to interpretation at all. I think this is all wishful thinking that they live together in Switzerland full time or more than two weeks a year. It’s a nice thought, but that’s your version, not the one the show presented.

Like the poster above said we can all have different ideas of the ending. It was purposely left open for interpretation to appease both sides. I think there's more than enough evidence to point that they are together given the series as a whole and not just her one line about the two weeks. But for those that want to take the two weeks at face value in perpetuity that line is there for them to hang on if they must.

My biggest issue is they forgot to have them wear the rings. I know the Switzerland shots were done first and the rings weren't written until much later but still. That's a bit sloppy.

LOL! I have logged more Kdrama hours than I care to admit and it never once crossed my mind that they were together more than the two weeks each year. Just to be sure I wasn't an outlier, I went to my go-to source for Kdrama reviews and she, too, took the ending at face value.

I agree, but I think the writers still provided enough to point people in the direction that these two are happy together in the end. Without having to come out and say he defected. It seems pretty obvious the first time I watched it and even more so after we watching a couple of episodes.
