Great point.
Now, if instead of some crackers with guns it's some n%ggers with guns confronting you, then of course it's ok to grab their guns, since they will be high anyway and there's much love among bros.
Hey PP -- you had some good points there, but can you please drop the race bait and the loaded words?
I own guns, I don't carry open or conceal. my three guns single shot bolt action 22, 22 revolver, and 9mm semi pistol are kept locked in a dial combo safe unloaded. so even if i wanted to confront someone. Id really have to think about it, since it wold take me a few minutes.
If I was a white arbrey in a black neighborhood, and was seen walking into private property and then seen hauling ass out I would expect that id likely get chased...Now whether the cops are called, who knows.
i know for a fact that two guys with guns VS one guy with out a gun. I don't have a gun I'm not stopping to fight.... if i felt that i wasn't going to get beaten or killed I'd stop and surrender and wait for police, or If I didn't think I'd survive if I stopped, I run as fast and as far as my chubby little drumsticks will take me.
That being said, I'm not out for a jog or a bike ride in black neighborhoods, and as sure as god made green apples I'm not stopping to investigate construction sites, no matter the neighborhood.
I don't think the shooters in this case expected arbrey to fight. and when he stood his ground and actually challenged the man it was a surprise. Once the the fight is on, and there is a loaded gun in the mix, the fight won't be over until someone is put down. at the end of the fight just before the last shot, the shooter did not have the gun up and sighted on arbrey, he had his two hands on the shotgun and arbrey was trying to wrestle it away. both men had their hands on the gun, but the shooter had one hand on the trigger and when arbrey got himself in front of the gun, the shooter pulled the trigger. low percentage shot with any firearm, except a shot gun.
If arbrey had gotten the gun away, would the other man have shot him? Would arbrey have killed one or both? I would not want to be on the jury.
Arbrey contributed to his own death. If he was truly out for a jog, why was he casually walking before he entered the construction site. when did he hang around the front lawn area of the house under construction for about a minute before walking inside, and then why did he emerge sprinting from the house 3 minutes later?
Travis will rot in jail for what he did. I hope...
the mcMichaels did not have the right to use force to detain arbrey.

He is not the criminal in this video.
+1000 This is so dumb. The video literally shows a guy walk into a construction site without a bag or backpack. He left with nothing. Y’all ranting about thievery and trespassing, he didn’t take anything!

Same thing when I was building after a tear down. Everyone jogging by had a peek even when the construction crew was present it did not deter people from sauntering in and taking a tour.
Most people who do this are not there to steal tools and whatnot. I think that the guy in this situation probably was up to no good and he probably was taking things. But you don't chase someone down shoot them for something like that.
Maybe if the guy had been peeping into a teenage girl's window or trying to lure children away that would warrant such a response. But stealing a screwdriver or whatever? No way.

Trespassing Defined
You commit a criminal trespass whenever you enter onto property which you know you do not have the right to enter, or remain on property after learning you do not have the right to be there. Trespassing can occur on both private and public property, and you do not have to receive a verbal warning that the property is off limits. Even if you enter a structure or property with the owner's permission, you can still commit trespassing if the owner later orders you to leave but you choose to remain, for example as a house guest who refuses to leave.
and if you are working with a builder who is building multiple houses, that builder has consent from the people who hired him to be on their property, and technically, until the building is completed and paper work filed, the builder owns the property.
Exactly. Trespassing IS a crime. But the two perps need to stay in lock up.

It's against the law for one. Someone bought that lot and was having their home built. Why would someone think they can go onto that property and inside the home? Framed or not.
That jogger wasn't admiring the structure fyi. Many look for expensive equipment, copper, or tools left behind. From all the videos I saw all 3 showed poor judgement. The two men should have called police instead of trying to confront him. I would think they will get some sort of judgement against them. Problematic may be the jogger charging the one man, and perhaps other factors.
This.
But let's keep the bs going on, this was a jogger who was randomly targeted by some snipers...some folks are nuts.
Does trespassing automatically earn you a death sentence in this country?
NP. No, it shouldn’t. But let’s not all pretend that this was random and could happen to anyone. It couldn’t. He was snooping around someone’s private property (that was in a vulnerable state for theft) where he had no business being. When he was caught doing the wrong thing, he didn’t just apologize like a normal person, he acted even more guilty, running away even though he clearly wasn’t a regular jogger there (or probably anywhere due to his attire). When stopped, he defended himself very aggressively even though he knew he had just done something wrong and that people had a fair reason to be suspicious that he had taken something and/or was up to no good. Nobody was a hero here, but nobody was innocent either.
I’m a white woman, planning a house, and I’d love to snoop around sites to get an idea of how it works. But I don’t. You know why not? It’s illegal. And if I decided to do it anyway one day then I’d definitely be ready to explain myself afterwards.
There are some rare cases where a black guy gets shot when he’s innocent (like when the cop was in the wrong apartment) and they are completely unacceptable but most cases have a lot of poor judgement involved. This is one of the cases where it’s a lot more difficult for me to have sympathy for him.
Wow! You’re actually defending people being shot in cold blood.
No, I’m not. I’m saying that people need to use better judgement. If you commit crimes then you should be ready to calmly explain yourself rather than add more fuel to the fire by trying to flee or attack the people trying to apprehend you. And if a cop screams at you to stop reaching around in your car because he’s concerned that you might have a gun, then you should actually stop. Stuff like that. When there’s a lot of poor judgement, events become more like accidents than they would otherwise be.

Stop defending this shit. People need to stop shooting random people because they are hopped up on racism and guns. Period. These people are an embarrassment to the human race and should be handed the death penalty. If the penalty for trespassing is death, the penalty for murder should be 100 times as bad.
