BETHESDA SC NOW HOLDING EXTERNAL TRYOUTS
Are you looking to join BSC for the 2020-2021 season? If you are from outside our program and looking to join our club for next season please contact:
BOYS
U7-U11: Trevor Martin tmartin@bethesdasoccer.org
U12-U14: Brett Colton bcolton@bethesdasoccer.org
U15-U19 Matt Ney mney@bethesdasoccer.org
Girls
U7-U11: Eric Tin etin@bethesdasoccer.org
U12-U14: Dave Greene dgreene@bethesdasoccer.org
U15-U19: Kevin Layton klayton@bethesdasoccer.org
In your email please include: your player's first and last name, their year of birth, and some general information about them (how long they have been playing soccer, what positions they like to play etc.).
If, as one of the earlier threads suggested, BSC has already given out invites for roster spots on their top teams, are these external tryouts only for their 2nd teams and below? We're interested in the U12-U14 age-group.

If no fall season payments stop and the due dates are shifted to begin in January, not end in January.
Hope for a spring season at least, at discounted rate since there would not have been any tournaments.

Non profit is not an excuse not to work with families on partial refunds or credits for fall. Many of these youth sports companies are non profit, including MSI who refunded 100% for spring. (Smaller price tag but significantly more kids)
You have to be clear. MSI refunded 100% of fees for their Rec and Classic Programs only. They are still waiting for NCSL & EDP to refund the league fees before they can refund the money to parents.
BSC thinks they're "all that" and they're lazy. They COULD figure out how much $ it would take to pay the staff if no fields are required, no tournaments happen, etc., and collect those funds. Rush has already announced that they won't charge credit cards or deposit checks for the August Cup or Rush for the Cup over Labor Day if the tournaments aren't guaranteed to go forward. People can pivot to address the times; BSC just isn't.

Some families have 3 kids, so they would be out $10k in the likely scenario that soccer does not take place. Even if soccer comes back in 2021 in some form, that is a lot of money to commit to at a time of uncertainty.Anonymous wrote:It's, in theory at least, the last day for us to accept or decline the team offer. With no firm information on how they're handling anything going forward, we're going to decline, and figure things out in the fall.
Hope others are doing the same.
What are other MD-based ECNL clubs doing (Maryland United, Pipeline, etc.)? Is BSC the only club in the area requiring a binding financial commitment now?
MD United already squared away their players with refund/credit amounts, and gave a Jun 1st deadline to respond to accepting a spot on a team. Which makes it even more perplexing as to why BSC is delaying an announcement of refunds/credits, and the rush to respond to offers.
