I wouldn’t judge him too harshly. They may have been breaking up way before cancer diagnosis, and then he tried to make it work but it just didn’t. Stuff happens. I wouldn’t want someone to stay in a bad relationship with me just because they feel sorry about my health condition.


I wouldn't judge him if this was the first instance of him ducking-and-running when life gets rough. But since he left Kate with 8 kids to raise on her own...and moved into the woods to live as a hermit I'd say this is a personality trait.

He's a coward who can't be depended on.

I think Jon is bitter towards Kate. He wanted the divorce and I think he underestimated her star power and Kate's ability to support herself. I think he really thought that when he ended his involvement in the show that would be the end of it for Kate, too. They would become "normal" people again, figure out custody, split up assets...and go live there regular lives as regular people. He tried to go under the radar but Kate kept herself (and the kids) in the spotlight. Maybe he's come to terms with the fact that he is never going to have a normal life again, he'll always be recognizable...so now he can talk again. Might as well make the best of it.


Something wrong with a woman who needs all those kids.

Also possible that a brush with mortality made her realize being with him is NOT how she wants to go through life.


He had Covid in Dec and was hospitalized for 11 days and then didn’t work for another 47 days. His own brush with mortality might have been enough for him to realize they needed to both move on.

I think the Kate-loving spammer is a some kind of stalking freak with an obsession. Maybe a man who thinks he's in love. If we ever start seeing articles in Us Weekly about Kate getting creepy long unsigned letters and seeing peeping toms in the bushes, we'll know who it is.
