OR many of the Asian parents who live in school clusters that were shut out (Wootton, Churchill) are scientists and engineers. Their children unsurprisingly are also really interested in and good at Math and Science. No tiger parenting necessary.

Is interest in math and science a heritable trait? Who knew?

Not a scientist so can’t answer your question but I am sure the interest can be nurtured. My husband and I both have graduate degrees and enjoy learning. I think we’ve passed that attitude to our children by reading to them, engaging them in conversation, taking them to plays, musical performances and to museums. We are very lucky to live in an area where many cultural amenities are free and we have a fabulous public library system. I am not saying that you need a graduate degree to parent in this way. What I am saying is that it came naturally for us to parent in this manner because we both love learning.

This. Eastern has always been seen as the lesser magnet.

Because?
It is a highly rigorous curriculum. The workload is probably higher than TPMS. Multiple demanding projects and papers every year.

Because it isn't math and science.

What data?

Also, why isn't anybody raging with indignation about Eastern?

The magnet didn’t save Eastern, nobody really cares.

The data from the voices in their head. The poster is obsessed with TPMS. Guessing their DC couldn’t make the cut so theyre bitter. None of their arguments stand up to any scutiny or reason.
