You need not look any further for Loudoun’s player development than the current FCV DA teams considering the number of former Loudoun players that are on those rosters. Loudoun does a good enough job that FCV is on this board now recruiting like they have always done.

Former Loudoun kids outnumber the FCV kids on the 06 DA team and yet Loudoun’s 06 ECNL team still beat FCVs DA team in WAGS this year with a “weaker” roster”.

Once again you turn to the wins without seeing the landscape when those teams were formed. To us it’s not about the trophies, the wins or how many YNT call ups we have. Those are accolades.

We care more about the level of competition for our players. Not for who came through the club 4 years ago. We feel good if our girls play well against quality teams. We feel good when they solve challenges or improve their play even if they lose. When we see what FCV has done with the 07s we know that the culture there is about wins and collecting trophies. We would be upset if the club pulled us from WAGS to sandbag a lesser tournament for a trophy. You guys are happy because you get the wins! You want evidence of our development, look to us making the finals in WAGS. If you see that and think FCV 07 did a better job developing the same age group because they won the second bracket of a no name tournament and we lost the finals in WAGS top bracket, then you have your answer.

FCV prioritizes wins over development. Loudoun does the opposite. Sounds like you are in the right club for you. So are we.

But the argument was that FCV 07 is so bad that they need sweeping changes to be competitive against top teams. OK, let's assume that rankings are not useful and their No.3 ranking does not mean anything, but nobody seems to argue that McLean is not a top team. It would seem that even with current pre-DA roster FCV can compete against top teams, such as McLean. It is a bit strange that Loudoun folks try to paper over abysmal performance of the club in ECNL by pointing to No. 1 state ranking of their 07 pre-ECNL team and then complain that FCV's pre-DA team's no.3 state ranking does not mean anything.
