Have been especially impressed with their clinic instructor (Ryan Jones). He's a really good teacher and has ability to grab the attention of the youngest children to install fundamentals. He teaches clinics from K-2 through high school, including the travel team only clinics.

Again, you’re a little off base here. Getting recruited is hard work. You have to reach out to colleges to get on their radar. If you’re talking about getting recruited with minimal effort then the more established clubs MIGHT have a slight edge. If you’re lazy and don’t reach out to get YOURSELF recruited what makes you think that the “name brand” clubs will? These directors have hundreds of kids, they only work really hard to get the top ones recruited

LOL what are you talking about? I would take any advice you see here with a grain of salt. Colleges are in the business of recruiting the best kids. As long as your child is competing against quality competition the club you play for makes very little difference. Don't get caught up in the crazy recruiting culture around here. If your kid is good enough they will find their way

But if you are a college coach going picking a player from Madlax or VLC is a safe bet. Taking one from DCE or NL requires a harder look and slight risk. But definitely agree NL and DCE are nipping at the heels of the name brands.

YMMV, but in my opinion there isn’t a real advantage at this point to being on any of the four major clubs in the region. Mad lax and VLC do great things for VA kids and are quality programs. But NL and DCE run quality programs as well and practices are way more convenient if you are in MoCo. If any of these programs are highlighting your kid, you are probably in pretty good shape. But a lot of actual learning takes place in the school programs and a lot of recruiting happens in showcases, etc. outside the club system. So NL is doing a great job and is a good place to help your kid develop. But there are other clubs in the region that also are running excellent programs.

They are getting some quality colleges recruiting players. Is that attributable to NL or more a reflection of the top flight high school programs these kids are coming from?

Anyone know when next level tryouts are for next year’s 7th & 8th grade teams? I can’t seem to find it online. Thanks.

My son received notice they are having supplemental tryouts. How good is the 2021 team. Any room for a good Mid currently starting for another club?
