Because of all the Asian AAP cheaters in FCPS - just another great reason to live in Arlington.

When we moved from Maryland a few years ago, we used the same person since FCPS would not accept Howard County test results. Our DC was accepted based only on that test and we are Indian Americans.
Incidentally we got her name thanks to these forums.

What others are pointing out that the psychologist OP used could have dubious reputation. FCPS does accept licensed psychologist report.

OP, where did your child take Cogat and NNAT?

I am PP from above. I apologize if I wasn’t clear. I used Dr.D, the same psychologist for my child too. My point was that FCPS did accept the WISC scores.

Can you clarify this further?
How do you know that FCPS did not accept the report?

Good to know. When OP's child was initially rejected, they should have stated that the cogat and nnat scores were not being accepted.

Random people on the board are speculating this is the problem.

Many of his classmates have got random scores it is not uniform or in 99 percentile But his school being academically advanced most got good scores

Looks like he would have got selected if we have got Wisc done by gmu

Fcps should then clearly state only gmu is accepted instead of making us go through all this

It could also be helpful that his GBRS will be from FCPS teachers when he is enrolled in public school. They will know what behaviors to look for and report on when filling out the forms to give a better picture of your child's abilities and potential.

So the lesson learned - do WISC at GMU especially if you're applying from a private school

Reston Montessori is not the only Montessori in that area. DD goes to a different one, and Sunset Hills isn’t far away, either. LePort has a Reston and a Herndon campus, etc.

Reston Montessori school??

I was just asking if this is the school - the only montessori I know in that area.

op - what's the name of your school?

I can't think why OP would want to answer your question.

Her reputation appears to be mixed.

But. PP appears to be saying that kids that go to Reston Montessori have some way of short cutting the process by getting the test questions and prepping all their kids into the 99th percentile on the CogAT. Or some bizarre theory like that.

Thanks Sherlock. We all figured that out 10 pages ago. It’s the WISC that was stumping everyone until a wise poster pointed out that the psychologist who gave it is not a reliable tester.
