No, quite the opposite. Those who are only voting for a candidate because of his race, e.g. those who will vote for Baker or Jealous only because they ARE black, are the racists ones. You believe that your form of racism is acceptable because you vote for the minority, but if you are only voting for a candidate because of his race, then you ARE racist.
If, however, you are voting for a candidate who's platform and results you happen to agree with, regardless of his race, you are not racist.
As a resident of PG County, I feel that Rushern Baker has done a good job with our county, but I also think that Hogan has done well for the state. I will continue to support Hogan, but would be willing to support Baker in future elections.
So just so we're all clear, according to you:
democrats voting for white republican = not racist.
democrats voting for AA democrat = racist.
That's how things line up in crazy-world, huh? Ooooooooookay.

I am not voting for Rushern Baker because he's black. I am voting for him because I like his record in PG County and I'm a proud Democrat who does not agree with many of Hogan's prior actions and current positions. If you think people only vote for black candidates because of the color of their skin, you're 50 shades of stupid.

Md.’s Hogan to withhold extra funding for high-cost school systems this year
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan announced Thursday that he will withhold $68 million in funding for high-cost school systems this year, thwarting the wishes of Democratic legislators and top officials in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. The General Assembly passed a measure in April requiring the state to fully fund a program that sends extra money to the state’s costliest school systems.

And for those who don't know what he's done - just back from the Eastern shore, where there are signs thanking him for lowering tolls!
Yup. Pandering to his Eastern shore base while he withholds school funding from MoCo and HoCo. He has twisted priorities.
Not if you’re on the eastern shore, or anywhere other than MoCo or HoCo. It’s not all about you.
Except MoCo and HoCo are two of the most populous counties in Maryland without a huge # of Hogan supporters. I would much rather my kid didn't have 28 kids in his elementary school class and pay tolls when I visit the Eastern shore. But Hogan has his priorities and education is not one of them.
Do you really believe that Hogan is responsible for class sizes in MoCo? That doesn't track to my experience with kids in MCPS before and after he was governor. I don't love the calendar but MCPS bears at least some responsibility on that. (Democrat inclined to vote for Hogan here)[/quote

Will vote for Hogan for number of reasons. 1) he’s the best candidate with most experience. Jealous and Baker don’t impress me. 2) He’s a Republican by name but his policies are truly more of a moderate. He hasn’t really pushed any strong conservative social issues and he knows where to distance himself from National republicans. 3) He’s more fiscally conservative than O’Malley who couldn’t find a thing he didn’t want to tax by the end of his terms 4) checks and balances in government. I believe government works best when each party had some power so I think he helps rein in some of the outlandish far left ideas that Md Congressman have proposed in past,
Another registered from Montgomery County. Will not vote for Hogan for a number of reasons. 1) He has been bad for Maryland schools, with his arbitrary calendar dictates that harm our kids' education while trying to boost a tiny part of his voting base in the Maryland shore, 2) He has not released funds that were due to Montgomery County for schools, despite repeated requests, 3) He did not speak out against Trump's Muslim ban despite repeated requests to do so and 4) He has not been aggressive in shoring up our private sector base (he didn't even call Discovery until the day before they announced they were leaving MoCo).
+1 Hogan hasn't done anything remarkable for Maryland. I honestly don't understand why he's so popular.
+1
And he hasn't said anything against Trump.
That's simply not true. For example, just last week he pulled MD National Guard troops from the border to protest the family separations.
Like him or don't, but lying about it doesn't help anything.
