Are you joking? The charter board is totally useless and just a rubber stamp. They DO NOT care about parents whatsoever. Seriously. Call them!
Oh be fair! They are a rubber stamp for their chosen schools. And quite useful in pushing those schools forward.
You're right. They're a rubber stamp for their favorites. Has anyone ever asked them for anything? I have. It's embarrassing how little they care. If there is a waitlist - then it's okay!!!

Anonymous wrote:What’s your point? If they live in MD their kids deserve to be sexually abused? By the way, it is a well-known fact that LAMB has students who do not live in DC because until very recently, they allowed the children of staff who live outside of DC to attend LAMB. LAMB has been arrogant for a long time and thought nothing of using DC taxpayers money for out of state students, even though they had a waiting list filled with DC kids that was a mile long. It was unacceptable and they finally Were forced to stop. Of course, the DCPCSB is completely useless in terms of any oversight on too many issues to count!

Probably.
If they're officers or directors of the board, absolutely. If not, would depend on insurance details.
Amateurs should not be involving themselves in education in this way (i.e. starting a charter).
Who are the amateurs? Diane and Christina? The board? Or do you generally mean charter people as most of the charters in DC were started by people as their first charter venture.
I believe this is why there are various supports for charters. I know mainly of Charter Board Partners and Building Hope. There are likely others. So that it isn't "amateur" for newcomers. I would hope that approving a school's charter means ensuring that everything is in place correctly.
Makes sense. DCPS doesn’t do its own real estate or board... so it can focus its expertise on education.
