Next should be winter break - only need to have Christmas and New Years off. If you want more days pull your kids
Might as well do away with President's Day as well, soon enough that day will go the way of Columbus Day.
Then you need to change state law, which requires schools to close between December 24 and January 1.
Love how the teachers union lobbied for that.
And here we are. Teachers union paid federal and national and professional holidays versus religious holidays.

Same for those random days off so teachers can organize their life. Those only started within the last 15-20 years around MoCo.

Well, I hate that idea. My kid has to do enough SSL hours, so no thanks on more 'required community service'. Often that just ends up being that they have the kids work for free for an organization that is making money.

It should say: HOW TO FIT SCHOOL TEACHING DAYS INTO THE BOARD OF EDUCATION AND TEACHER UNION's RIDICULOUS POLICIES and the SCHOOL START AND STOP DATES.
Get rid of the fluff days off, teach about them instead. No teacher union prep days. I stopped by one of those once. Since I had to take off of work to care for my kids. Looked like a nonstop catered food social day.
Which "fluff days off", specifically, are you referring to?
I certainly wouldn't call MLK day a 'fluff day' but I love the idea of holding school that day and either doing a teach-in or a required community service day. Similar days (presidents day?) could be handled similarly. However, I think state law requires those days off school.
