Laura's nasal intonation is exceptionally high pitched this evening.

That screeching voice seems to be getting worse as she ages. Why on earth did Trump allow her to become a US Citizen.

I too have been challenged by Laura's accent At one time it seemed closest to individuals from Australia. It is certainly less difficult to understand than voices from the program "Shetland"
Laura is an attractive lady and an accomplished newscaster.
Its a shame that these viewers are so upset by being challenged. It does require a bit more serious attention. I spent a good deal of my life being challenged -and feel stronger for it

Unfortunately she is back this evening. I guess her husband has too much pull for BBC America to ground her to reporting. Meanwhile, we suffer or switch to another station which is what I do.

I too love Katty or Jane O'Brian. Big break from Travelyan's horrible voice.

I would agree, the accent isn't much of a problem - it is screetching voice that is the problem. It is so much better when she is out reporting and we have a good Anchor who is a pleasure to listen to,

Her accent is OK ...It's her nasal tone ...like fingernails on chalkboard. I feel my blood pressure rising & have to mute her immediately. Surely BBC can afford voice coach, she seems like a nice, intelligent person.

Laura seems to be getting worse. With what we are all going through with bad news and uncertainty, her voice and accent is an additional brutal blow on the emotions and ears when listening to her. I'm so disappointed that BBC America insists on keeping her as such a visible newscaster. I'm thankful Katty Kay is on this evening!! So grateful...

Laura Trevelyan's "Quick! Reach For The Mute Button!" voice is part of The Unholy Three of Miz Trevelyan, Donald Trump, and the ESPN sports announcer Dick ("DOOOOOOOK!") Vitale.

Like unhappy marriages, these horrifically unbearable voices are each unbearable in their own distinct ways. Trump's is the voice of the schoolyard bully, Vitale's the voice of the schoolyard idiot, and Trevelyan's is the voice of Marge Simpson in the British version of the American cartoon show. What Boris Johnson is to world leaders, Miz Trevelyan is to accents. She may be the sweetest person in the world, but she's got about as much business being a news anchor as------Marge Simpson.

Please bring Katty Kay back. Travelyan is impossible to listen to. She really does have a terrible voice and accent.

I must agree with the criticisms, and my background includes some of the harshest Great Lakes squawks. It seems that the BBC has cynically decided that we in the US will accept any non-American accent as acceptably British. Perhaps that's broadly true; perhaps management should test the thesis with on-camera talent from New Zealand or South Africa. Please - a professional in the role requires more than journalist credentials.

I love Katty Kay. She is a natural behind the news lens and so sharp and witty! I greatly appreciate her personal reflections on family or humanitarian issues all keeping within the realm of professional news reporting. She is by far the best news anchor from my experience with US, Brit, Canadian, German, French and Spanish news casters. Please stay Katty Kay!
