MULTIPLE posters explained why they hated the adults who did Disney and took up all the spots in line for the characters. I’ve never had that problem so I don’t have a dog in that fight but to say that no one answered why they care is to say you didn’t read a single one of the 20+ pages that proceeded your inane post.

Yeah, that’s dumb. If your kid is old enough to get something out of the Disney experience, they are old enough to wait their turn. Little kids that can’t handle lines do not need to go to Disney and they certainly don’t need to pose for a photo with Donald Duck when they’re too young to GAF. If you, the parent, care about getting that photo, okay. Cool. Wait your turn. But this isn’t the case of adults ruining experiences for kids.

I think traveling halfway around the world so your kid can eat a cookie in a park is pretty wasteful. Think of all the good that could come from donating that money to worthier causes.

I don't like Disney. I do ignore and get on with my life, except when someone tells me I've deprived my children by not taking them. Then I explain the vapid consumeristic nature of Disney as a sterile fantasyland. Don't want my opinion, don't criticize me for not introducing my kids to that drivel.

I watched a documentary somewhere about mermaid people, people who wear tails in a pool and dream of being in a tank at the renaissance fair.

It’s weird! But some of them were just doing craft projects and weird performances with their whole hearts, and that was very endearing.

I think what makes people mad about Disney adults is they seem to be mostly into buying stuff that’s made for them. If they’re finding community and making stuff, like idk new princess identities or something, great! But if it’s about shopping, I think that’s lame.

I go to Starbucks but I’m not a FAN of Starbucks. I think it’s just brand fandom in general. I would also not be into someone who was excited about the new layout at the Target or wore Target merch.

Plenty of adults love Disney and don’t talk about it all the time. Shit, the partner I work for goes annually with his family and has mentioned twice that he loves it. He’s perfectly normal.

You could work for my husband. We go every 12-18 months with our teens and really enjoy it. We don’t talk about it much (unless people seek us out for tips) and we travel other places. We aren’t on social media and don’t send out holiday cards so unless you actually KNOW us, you wouldn’t know.
