We are at McLean. I think at least 30-40 get in every year.

McLean HS is not even in the top 5 of high schools in Virginia anymore. It has fallen so much. https://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/virginia

And the facilities are terrible.

CSS profile needs to be submitted to be considered for need-based scholarships. Have you tried its net-price calculator?

No. We cannot possibly qualify for need based aid. If no merit, we will be full pay if child decides to attend.

I’m the pp. My daughter attends UVA at full pay. Have you considered outside scholarships? My daughter applied to a variety of local and state merit based scholarships and was awarded nearly 50k.

That’s great! Which scholarships? It may be too late for DD for this year.

I would also like to know what these scholarships are

In our experience, independent scholarships were small and not worth the investedtime. DS applied to 10 (this was for UVA but not affiliated). He didn’t nab one of them.Every winner was a URM with a sob story.

Do try the national nursing associations and call UVA nursing and ask. My trainer got her undergrad and now doctorate at UVA nursing and loved it but is in-state.

+1

Scholarships are all about the sob-story / victimhood angle these days.

You mean they gave scholarships to students who have overcome obstacles and weren’t born on third? Isn’t that what scholarships are for?

Again, what is wrong with you? Try to be helpful, not tear apart people’s posts.

So was he unable to attend because he didn't win? No, you just paid the tuition because you already had the money, you just didn't feel like spending it.

Of course you're a nurse. Typical mean girl.

What is wrong with you?

At my DC’s school you can isolate by year and see right on the scatterplots (or toggle to the list function) and see who was admitted. Of course, you can’t see who ended up attending, but it is pretty easy to see the total number admitted vs. applied each year, whether they submitted test scores, etc.
