Notre Dame plays such a soft schedule. It's not a showcase school like the SEC and Big 10 schools are for athletes that have NFL ambitions. College football is changing. ND shouldn't be where five star recruits go in this era, especially after the petulance and patheticness of Notre Dame in recent weeks.

Pete Bevaqua is out here issuing threats and whining in interviews and press conferences but he can't even articulate exactly what he's mad about. What do they want? Stricter rules about how rankings are determined? Stricter rules about CFP selection? Of course not, because the vagueness in both of those usually benefits Notre Dame more than any other program, as an "independent" program, and in fact the rules were created in large part to benefit Notre Dame. So they don't want to change that.

They can't articulate a reason why they deserve to be the in the CFP over Miami (who beat them) or Alabama (which played a tougher schedule and had the same record going into their conference championship). There are reasons why Notre Dame deserves a spot over a school like Tulane or JMU, but the rules of the CFP, which Bevaqua was instrumental in creating, won't allow it. And most people think schools like that earning their way into the CFP via conference championships is good for the sport. So they aren't advocating for any specific outcome.

And apparently Bevaqua is mad at the ACC for advocating to put an ACC team in the playoffs but it's okay for him to advocate to put ND in the playoffs? And don't even get me started on the weirdness of ND pitching a fit at the ACC when it's *in* the ACC, and only remains independent in football because they want to keep all their TV/sponsorship money for themselves. Like the lack of self awareness there is ridiculous. The ACC would welcome ND football with open arms, even now, but they don't want to be a part of it. Yet Bevaqua thinks he can tell the ACC not to advocate for itself.

Truly, these people are stupid. I know ND is supposed to be a good school with smart students and faculty and academically that is correct. However, it is possible for one's ego to be so large that it blots out your own intelligence and makes you stupid. That is what is happening here.

Wow! Scary that a current commissioner is so ignorant of their own history. Not surprising for a sub par conference.
The PAC 12 crumbled after Covid and the Big 12 has yet to recover. After spending most of the March 2020 lock down (they probably saw more of each other than they did of their families) with the commissioners of the Big 12, Mountain West, and Jack Swarbrick,- Greg Sankey slithered in and poached Oklahoma and Texas A &M from the Big 12. They were building the current CFP structure.

It is in fact true that ND saved college football during Covid.
