He was driven to the golf course. He probably didn't actually play golf. And then he was driven back.
According to friends who live near his VA golf course, he hasn’t been there this weekend because there was no security. When he is there, they all know because the security detail presence is obvious. Roads have checkpoints and are heavily monitored. There has been none of that…therefore, he has not been golfing.

Sure, but I don't think anybody is credibly saying he's dead. There's speculation that he's so sick that he's being kept off the golf course and out of sight. Very old people tend to deteriorate fast.

I live in the exact neighborhood, half a mile from the course, and no we didn’t see any security or road blockages this weekend and haven’t seen it mentioned. Usually people are complaining about the inconvenience because it’s a fairly liberal neighborhood. I did see one sheriff’s van that usually accompanies the motorcycles used to close the roads, but no motorcycles, which was weird. It’s possible he slipped in and out without the neighborhood watch noticing, but not very likely.

Just because MAGAs fall for this misinformation doesn't mean the rest of us do.
It is unclear to me if the people running his social media are really incompetent or just full of contempt for Americans. Either way, they are really bad at their job and just making everyone suspicious. I suspect the procedure theory is on the money and that if they had been a little bit more savvy we'd be none the wiser. I assume he'll recover just fine and be back to his ADHD/dementia addled self this week. We might never have suspected a thing and, instead, we have all had a blast connecting the dots, making jokes, uniting in our shared schadenfreude.
I lean towards the contempt theory. They enjoy playing MAGA like a fiddle and getting them to believe that a recycled photo of Trump golfing among palm trees and other tropical vegetation was taken a few hours ago in DC. If they can get them to believe that, they can get them to believe anything.
Whatever the explanation, the country has enjoyed a well-deserved break from his insanity.
