They can't get more kids in the door in time for class to start. They'd rather have kids outside the school every day for an hour? That doesn't make sense either. If the priority is to have metal detectors then they're going to have to have enough to get kids in the building. Or get rid of the metal detectors. Or only screen random kids.
Nobody wanted these metal detectors. I have no evidence, but I'm guessing someone is getting fat payments off these things.
