Kadera emphasized “we are new at this” and “expected we’ll make stumbles.” Her equating unexpected closures throughout year to a religious holiday and saying loss of instructional time could be assemblies and surveys was surprising, but wouldn’t many be thrilled to get rid of survey? Did she open a door? Can she pronounce the name of the holiday yet?

She doesn't even show up to the community events the schools she supports host, so no surprise she doesn't get how special they are.

*EquItY*

Even Fairfax isn’t doing it. Not sure who decided to die on this hill at APS.

Syphax did. They wanted another paid holiday. But they didn’t get it this time.

Yes, only white parents are angry/impacted by this

I can almost guarantee that most if not all parents who emailed the board were N Arlington angry (white) parents. Don’t hate the messenger. I still think you’re going to get the vote you desire.

Hi again. High five 🙌🏽 to me! You got your vote so stand down. Congratulations!

I do feel bad for our Muslim students though. They deserved better too.

Serious question though. They miss school that day and stay home. How are they harmed?

OMFG!!!!!!!! “We can’t only be inclusive when convenient.” This is about the education of our children. The priority is the education! Not being inclusive in a way that is impossible for school communities to plan.

These pansies are abstaining!!! So who decides because you can’t!
