Another weak response. There are already brackets based on numbers. A fair and thriving society would have more brackets and a tax burden that affects the rich as much as it does the poor or middle class.
My parents rely on their Social Security check. My friends' parents rely on their Social Security checks. The older people at my workplace rely on the add'l income from their Social Security checks. The impact of this loss of income on ordinary Americans cannot be overstated.
And the system is set up so that we can rely on them. When I was hired of jobs that provided pensions, the pensions were calculated based on the assumption that workers would also be receiving Social Security benefits.

What’s the point of this post? To provide that one example of some crazy person murdering their husband and receiving fraudulent payments means we need to throw out the whole thing?
