The only 2013 GA teams in the DMV that might beat a 2013 ECNL team in the DMV are NVA and SYC. All other GA teams would get slaughtered by BSC, Union, Arlington, and VDA. Revolution is in first place in 2013 GA South Midatlantic and they lost to VDA 7-0. And NVA just lost to BSC 2-0.

BTW, the OP asked about 2014 teams.

You do know rankings app tracks all? You may want to retract stagement. Even the mighfy unionlost to GA team

My comment was limited to DMV GA teams, and the only such team Union has lost to is SYC, which is consistent with my comment.

Look in MD, similar results. 2013GA is strong. Main reasoning is increase in GA and ECNL clubs do not have pool of kids to recruit from as they did in the past.

I did say DMV, but I actually meant DC metro area, which as a practical matter means the teams in VA that play in the GA Midatlantic South, since there are no MD GA teams in the DC metro area (unless you want to stretch beyond Montgomery and PG counties). More specifically, NVA, SYC, REV, MYS, LOU, ALX, and TSJ. For 2013, other than NVA and SYC, these GA teams are not even remotely competitive with BSC, FXU, ARL, or VDS. I’m not making a GA comment, I’m making a comment about GA teams around DC. If GA wants to be competitive around DC, they need to consolidate these teams.

The 2013 ARL, BSC and FXU are not that competitive. Especially ARL. They should not even be in the conversation

Rankings App (wrong, but indicative):

FXU: 32
NVA: 41
BSC: 47
VDA: 82
ARL: 90
SYC: 109
—————-
REV: 176
MYS: 232
ALX: 523
LOU: 1007
TSJ: 2037

Look at the few losses your top ECNL teams. Most of them to GA. When ECNL shelters teams, it also shelters the rankings.

Look at SYC’s conference loss to Charlotte Independence, a former bottom feeding ECNL club that just joined GA. See, anyone can cherry pick single games.

King’s Hammer SC (Rank 406), tied SYC.

I actually watch the teams play and don't just rely on results which can easily be gamed. FVU/BSC are way ahead of those GA teams.

BSC is quite competitive, they're just in a very tough NA conference. They do well consistently outside of conference play (and could easily have had more wins in the fall, but really were struggling offensively with their style in league play).

Not sure why you'd say FVU isn't competitive. They're clearly a talented bunch and ranked right around 30 nationally.

NVA has tied BSC 1-1, beat VDA , Beat Arlington. And lost to BSC with starters playing only about 50% of game together. So yea ECNL not looking good for age.
VDA also lost 6-2 to a GA aspire team.. ouch

From NYC. Not from DMV.

You're not reading my post. I agree that 2013 NVA and to a somewhat lesser extent SYC are very good teams. But the drop-off in DMV GA from there is cataclysmic. How long are those NVA girls going to stay when they've scored 43 goals and given up 2 in 8 games. SYC is 34 GF / 7 GA. That's not good for those girls' development.

SYC 2013s beat Union 2-0 (Union is currently undefeated in ecnl)
FVU also lost to a NJ GA team. ECNL is on death throes. Boys MLSNEXT badge killing it.

lol has SYC had any other tournament/showcase wins in the Fall? Oop not looking good there either

SYC 13’s & 14’s picked up STJ Girls and kids from other clubs and had about 80-100 girls at tryouts. They are decent because of all the incoming talent. But they revert to kickball a lot.
