well no, not quite. A 5 and a 4 are quite different outcomes

13% got a 5 in US 33% got a 4
13% got a 5 in Euro 34% got a 4

Only a small number are deemed "excellent" which is a 5
so that roughly 10% of test takers getting a 5 for those subjects still holds

The percentage of 4 and 5 in Spanish significantly declined since 2020. 2023 and 2024 are almost the same.

They are. My kid is thinking of retaking US history to replace the 2 he got the year 52% of test takers got a 1 or 2. Something felt really off about that. This kid is a history buff and all other scores have been 4s and 5s.

My kid self studied last year and got a 5, but they have a lot of music background.

My kid is taking it next year. He has perfect pitch, so the listening and singing portions shouldn’t be too hard.

My kid took it this year. They have a decent music background and took the class at school. Got a 4. They didn’t find it tough, but there were issues administering the test (aural portions) and their sub score reflected this.
