When isn’t he?
As a parent, I appreciate him. I think he says a lot of the things that staff want to say but most don't feel comfortable. He fills that role, and it's needed. Without him I probably would not even have known about this big issue and many others.
What's important to staff should be important to parents.
He speaks as a singular voice on things that all staff does not agree upon. If you dare challenge him one of his groupies will attack you. It’s really toxic IMO

There is an association I think. Not really much power to advocate.
I always thought there was a teacher union of some sort. Good to know, thank you.

I am actually happy about the switch to Blue Cross Blue Shield. In previous jobs I've held, insurance carriers have switched, and it hasn't been a big deal. Everyone saying they need days and days off to search for new doctors is beyond ridiculous. I watched the school board comments and I cringed. A small group of APS teachers act so outraged over EVERYTHING and they give the rest of us a bad reputation. Just want people to know we aren't all this crazy. And the people who speak at school board meetings (including one very vocal teacher) - DO NOT represent the majority of teachers in APS.
I watched some of the school board mtg comments and that guy is going to be embarrassed when in 6 months by how uninformed and hysterical he sounds.
I hope they hold info sessions on how to use the insurance plan because it’s clear that many don’t know how it works.
I only had Kaiser ins once . It was awful going to that building and I felt like it was a public health center not something I was actually paying premiums for. I would cry if I had to go back to using it.
He’s doubling down on AEM. Not that anyone in that echo chamber will disagree with him.

Anonymous wrote:The real story here will be whether APS wrote the RFP in a way to exclude Kaiser from submitting a bid.
That, and the fact that they could have told people about this in July.
