Where is the thread from the woman at the PTA meeting? The link you posted is from a Fox 5 person spreading the same misleading headline as the other Fox 5 person (“No charges,” which suggests there has been a decision not to charge, even though MCPD already responded to say charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing). I always thought the local Fox affiliate was better than Fox News, but I was wrong.

That’s the MCPS message, not from BCC.
Yes. What is your point? Do you work for MCPS?

We don't spank our kids. That's why they aren't thugs that express their emotions through violence.
That might be part of it, but a bigger part is unaddressed developmental issues like ADHD, FAS, oppositional disorder, etc.
And parenting/lack of parenting, and peer group
I've been in the presence of some of these parents/sperm donors...sadly it doesn't surprise me one bit that their children behaved the way they did. Unfortunately, it took THIS! to wake up the community. The behaviors go all the way back to elementary/middle schoolTheir free ride ended Thursday night.
No it didn’t. The kids got away with it, at least at BCC. Parents received an email saying it’s been taken care of, and whatever happened will remain secret.
Then they sent a link to some restorative justice nonsense.
The letter was sent to every parent in MCPS. It said nothing about restorative justice. It said that some of the kids were disciplined in school according to the MCPS Code of Conduct and that there is an ongoing police investigation. Schools never reveal what consequences are doled out. Ever.
FERPA makes it dicey to share that sort of info.
If I don’t hear about arrests il officially give up.
Well MCPS is keeping punishments a secret. We shall see about the police.
Juvenile records are sealed.

When was this sent? I’m a BCC parent and the last message I got from the school about it was Dr. Mooney’s 9/5 community letter about the two investigations and that those who videoed it would also be punished. Nothing since other than the MCPS message about measures they will be taking at games and that police are still conducting an investigation.
This email was from the central office not BCC.

Nah. I have two sons with adhd and asd. One with odd too. Neither has ever assaulted anyone. In fact one was physically attacked at school and didn't fight back. Watch the girl throwing hands in the video. That's not the first time she's been in a fight. Sone families allow it, some even encourage it.
That's what I thought too. Definitely not her first rodeo. That girl has a lot of experience with violence..
It's tragic. But kids with this kind of upbringing need to be identified early on and treated accordingly in a safe environment.
Some parents are really awful and their kids don't have a chance. MCPS is not doing anyone any favors by refusing to hand out consequences to violent behavior
